Solar Lanterns
These solar lanterns for our garden have gone through a number of revisions. All the ones actually out in our yard are printed in PLA, which isn't the best choice for outdoor use, but they've been surprisingly durable. Only one has warped a little during a heatwave last summer, and they've all survived the winter very well.
I use a solar light meant to go on a fence post and design the lantern part to connect to it. I found some solar lights online that are pretty good quality — nice LEDs, replaceable rechargeable batteries, and a good-sized solar panel.
The original designs are available on MakerWorld, and I got so many requests from friends and neighbors that I set up a small Etsy shop, Lightningbug Lanterns, selling versions printed in PETG, which is much more durable and long-lasting outdoors, and coated in a UV clear coat.
